After weeks of making, creating and gathering stories with local people, the Saucepan Ponies are ready to take to the streets of Leigh Park!

Join Emerald Ant and the Saucepan Ponies for a joyful community parade celebrating creativity, stories and what ‘home’ means to us. Everyone is welcome to come along, dress up, join the procession and be part of the fun.

The Saucepan Ponies are one of the creative strands of HOME, our landmark multi-arts project exploring stories of home and belonging in Wimborne.

🎭 Young performers wanted for Belonging – Our Search for Home

Calling young actors and storytellers! Join a free two-day theatre workshop exploring The Lost Village of Kingston Lacy.

• Tue 25 & Wed 26 Aug, 10.30am–2.30pm

• Ages 8–15 | FREE

Led by theatre practitioners Rohan Gotobed and Tony Horitz, the workshops will use drama, storytelling and imagination to explore the people and stories connected to the Kingston Lacy landscape.

The workshops will also help cast young performers for Belonging: Our Search for Home, an ambitious new outdoor landscape theatre production taking place at Kingston Lacy from 22–27 September.

Belonging is presented by Wimborne Community Theatre in association with Wimborne Town of Culture 2026.

🎶 Get creative with songwriting

Young people aged 8–11 can explore songwriting and music, express their ideas and build their creative confidence at this free Culture Quest Summer 2026 workshop.

No experience needed – just bring your ideas!

Culture Quest is part of the wider creative programme taking place during Wimborne’s year as Dorset Town of Culture 2026.

✨ Sound Bath

• Friday 28 August, 9–9.45am

• Little Pickle at the Mill, Walford Mill | FREE

Start your Friday with something a little different with a free 45-minute Crystal Singing Bowl Sound Bath led by local practitioner Jasmine Matthews in the beautiful courtyard at Walford Mill.

Whether you’ve experienced a sound bath before or are completely new to it, the session is designed to be welcoming, accessible and relaxing.

Sounds by the River is one of our Culture Catalyst Micro-Commissions, supporting local people to bring new creative ideas and experiences to Wimborne during 2026.

📸 Becky Dodd’s photo mural goes on tour

Local artist Becky Dodd’s photo mural, originally commissioned by Wimborne Town of Culture 2026 for UPLIFT Youth Festival back in April, is now touring the town.

Its latest stop is The Rum Life at Longclose Yard, where you can see it until 1 September.
