Being named Dorset Town of Culture 2026 gives us an unprecedented opportunity to bring our community together and introduce even more people to what makes Wimborne so special.
We are organising an exciting programme of events that will span the whole of the year. Our dream is that the collaborations and connections we all make over the coming months will lead to a more connected and creative community in and around Wimborne for years to come.
We see culture as art, performance, music, sport, heritage and leisure activities. It doesn’t fit neatly into one category - and we want you to help shape our year of culture by coming along to events, volunteering to support activities and perhaps even running your own sessions.

As part of Wimborne Town of Culture 2026, we’re launching the Wimborne Culture Guide — a new platform to showcase the incredible range of cultural activity happening across our town.
Wimborne consistently punches above its weight when it comes to culture, and this is about celebrating that energy while making it easier for everyone to discover what’s on and get involved.
uplift yOuth fEstival
6-19 April
Pop-up creativity across Wimborne this Easter - with opportunities to perform, create, showcase work and help shape the programme.
Taking place 6–19 April, UPLIFT is a youth-led programme of performances, workshops, exhibitions and creative activity happening across Wimborne during the Easter holidays.
Saturday 11 April will be a particularly lively day, with performances in the Square, workshops and creative activity across the town.

Get Young People Involved
If you work with children or young people, help them connect with Wimborne UPLIFT, our youth-driven festival celebrating art made by and for young people. We can support schools and youth groups to participate and even help facilitate events.
