saucepan pony!
a playful exploration of home, created with the people of wimborne
What makes somewhere feel like home? What would you take with you if you were setting off on an adventure?
As part of HOME, Wimborne Town of Culture 2026’s landmark creative project, Emerald Ant are bringing the Saucepan Ponies to Leigh Park for a summer of making, storytelling, music and imagination.
Working with local people, Emerald Ant are exploring our different ideas of home – the objects we treasure, the places that matter to us and the things that give us a sense of belonging.
Ideas and stories gathered through creative exploratory sessions will inspire a series of free workshops, where participants can help bring the Saucepan Ponies to life by making hobby horses and hats and creating songs together.
It all culminates in the Saucepan Ponies Pony Parade on Thursday 27 August – a colourful, playful procession through the streets of Leigh Park, with everyone invited to dress up and join the adventure.
