Wimborne’s Pre-LOVEd Rainbow Trail has been created to encourage sustainable shopping choices. Buying second-hand reduces both the use of resources to make something new and the disposal of throwaway items, often to landfill. Making sustainable spending decisions is one of the most important things we can do to care for our planet.
The Pre-LOVEd Trail is one of many trails created by Planet Wimborne for Wimborne Town of Culture 2026, and to endure into the future as a legacy.

Occupied / Unoccupied is a photography project by Ukrainian photographer Iryna Sozanska. The exhibition captures an insight into life under Russian occupation, evacuating from Ukraine, and rebuilding a new life with her family in Ferndown, Dorset.

‘Threaded Together’ is a woven journey celebrating 40 years of weaving at Walford Mill Crafts featuring solo and collaborative work by Debby Kirby and friends, and showcasing new work by ceramicist Dave Pointer.
‘Threaded Together’ opens at Walford Mill Crafts from 29th July with an opening celebration on Saturday 1st August from 12pm-6pm with live music, food and drink.
The exhibition will run throughout August so there’s plenty of time to come and visit Debby in her studio before she leaves at the end of the year!

wimborne art club summer exhibition
The Wimborne Art Club Summer Exhibition will be held at Pamphill Village Hall from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 August.
The exhibition showcases the artistic talents of its members and features crafts as well as paintings. There is a varied selection of subject matter and styles, something to suit everyone’s taste.
rivermind singing workshop
An exciting chance to learn some new river songs, dedicated to our local rivers, and to perform them together. The workshops will be led by local composer Karen Wimhurst, and involve learning and performing a set of river songs that she has written. The songs celebrate our local rivers and the workshops will be held on the riverbank, providing an opportunity to ‘sing with the river’. The idea is very much an informal, fun event appropriate for the summer holidays; they are free to attend and open to singers of all abilities. No booking required - just turn up!

Free monthly guided walks designed to support wellbeing through time spent outdoors, encouraging people to connect with nature, improve mental wellbeing and enjoy gentle physical activity in the company of others.

Walks will be approximately 45 minutes with stops along the way. Julie will guide participants through gentle exercises encouraging connection with our surroundings.

Join us for a special after-hours event exploring Occupied / Unoccupied, our current exhibition by Ukrainian photographer Iryna Sozanska.
The evening begins with an exclusive opportunity to view the exhibition outside of normal museum opening hours, giving you time to explore the photographs, personal objects and artworks that tell the story of Iryna’s experience of living under Russian occupation and rebuilding life in the UK.
Following the viewing, Iryna will be in conversation about her experiences, the stories behind the exhibition, and how photography and personal objects have helped her document this extraordinary period of her life. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
After the talk, there will be additional time to revisit the exhibition with a new understanding of the photographs and objects on display.
This event offers a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the exhibition directly from Iryna and hear the personal stories that bring each object and photograph to life.
This is also a fundraising event in support of Ukraine Relief. All profits will be donated to help provide humanitarian aid to people affected by the war in Ukraine.

free 2-day theatre workshop - the lost village of kingston lacy
25 - 26 August: An opportunity for young people (ages 8-15yrs) to be creative and play a part in an exciting landscape theatre production at Kingston Lacy rom 20-27 September.
Rohan Gotobed and Tony Horitz, professional theatre makers from Wimborne Community Theatre, will run this FREE 2-day drama workshop for young people aged 8-15 years from 10.30-2.30pm on Tuesday 25 AND Wednesday 26 August. The workshops will be in the Allendale Studio at the Allendale Centre on Tuesday 25th August, and at Kingston Lacy on Wednesday 26th August.
Each day with start with drama, games and activities to have fun and bond the group, before working on voice and movement skills to boost confidence. After sharing the key stories of the play we will work together to create our own special scene - a mediaeval mystery story about villagers once living in ’The Lost Village of Kingston Lacy’, exploring what happened to them. We’ll end by acting this out and casting.
Having attended both workshop days, you will then need to attend some rehearsals during the first weeks of September and perform in the show Belonging, Our Search for Home, on selected nights of the show run from 22-27 September (to be arranged later).
There is a limit of 20 places available.

home: gypsy & traveller lives in dorset
An exhibition in partnership with Kushti Bok and Dorset History Centre exploring where and how Dorset-based Gypsies and Travellers have lived in the past, what “home” means to these communities, and how the nature of home has changed over the last century.
Expect to see archival material from Dorset History Centre, contributions from Kushti Bok including wooden scale models of traditional Gypsy wagons and soil samples from historic Dorset settlements, and objects that reflect both historic and contemporary experiences of Gypsy and Traveller life. The exhibition also features oral histories, allowing visitors to hear directly from people with lived experience.
